The goal of this project is to create a board game to entertain children. The Freshman design project as a whole is meant to challenge students to create something tangible by applying engineering concepts to available resources. The motivation of this specific project is to create a toy that can be used to entertain children. This project is to be completed entirely within the ten week time frame of the class. Most technical challenges that are expected to occur are related to the 3D modeling and rapid prototyping of the parts of the board game that is going to be created. However, the most significant task of this project will be the design of the rules that dictate the play of the game.
Background
There are not many technical aspects related to the actual use of our board game, aside from simply adhering to the rules outlined in the game manual. However, its design and fabrication took the application of many various types of technical devices. Some examples of this are the program Autocad that was used to design the game board, and the 3D printer that was used to create the pieces used to play the game.
